All main doors are protected but for the motion detectors they can be placed in different ways so the animals can run around. There is also a bypass feature that allows various motion detectors to be shut off without turning the entire alarm off. The key pad is very user friendly with everything stated clearly on the pad. The alarm is very loud but unlike the old alarms it will go off for 5 minutes and then automatically shut off.
