I have a wood-burning fireplace and would like to have gas logs installed. Any advice on whether vented or ventless gas logs are better in terms of price, upkeep, look, etc? We’re building a house (lodge) and want a gas fireplace. By all accounts, vented is better than ventless, except for one thing – all the vented fireplaces I’ve seen come with protective glass that’s not removable (at least not for everyday operations). Do vented gas fireplaces without glass exist? I think the glass spoils the [...] My gas fireplace has a flu, but also has vents above and below on the interior of the house. There is also a switch on the wall beside the fireplace which doesn’t seem to do anything. I want to use this to heat my home, but with the flu open it does nothing [...] i want to stop burnning wood(tired of the mess)and i want to go with natural gas(furnance is behind the fireplace)my fireplace is 34″ back width,35″front width & 22″ depth can anyone tell me what size logs i need and is vented or ventless the better way to go?we do have a 6 week old son I bought a Ventless gas logs set with burner and remote on Ebay, when I recieved it the logs were broken into pieces due to the fact that the person did not pack it properly ( I am trying to get a refund), Can i use the logs (just the logs not the burner) from [...] Why do natural gas water heaters, furnaces, fireplaces have to be vented and a natural gas stove doesn’t? They are on for several hours at a time just like the other appliances I mentioned. |
